Is couples counselling right for us?

The relationship with your partner is one of the most important relationships in your life, so if things aren’t right it can turn your life upside down. You may have been trying to work it out yourselves, but the same issues keep coming up and you’re stuck on repeat.

Specialised relationship counselling is important to assist you in confronting relationship issues. You can learn how to have positive experiences in expressing concerns, feel accepted and understood by your partner. Working with a relationship counsellor gives couples a more grounded and balanced view of their concerns in the relationship and the relationship with themselves.

Depending on your needs as a couple, you can attend weekly sessions to begin with, then go into fortnightly sessions until you have reached your desired outcome. Individual counselling sessions are often recommended for each partner in between their couples counselling sessions.
